Global technology giant Oracle on Tuesday said that the company is planning to open one more another data centre in Hyderabad by 2020.

In an interview to CNBC-TV18's Reema Tendulkar, Prasad Rai, head of SaaS business, said, "We have seen strong traction for the SaaS-based cloud applications in the country and we suddenly realised that there is further demand building up and we need to be able to get our SaaS solution in the data centre so that we get the benefits of the solutions to a broader section of the market."
"Oracle is the only software company in the country that has infrastructure as a service, platform as service and software as a service in the India data centre and that is a unique proposition that we bring to the table," he added.
"We have customers such as IDFC First Bank, Bajaj Finance, Airtel and All India Institute of Technical Education. They all use our cloud applications. But where there is personally identifiable information (PII), it is important that we have the data resident in India and that is the reason why we believe with the SaaS solutions in the data centre, we can actually go and talk to pretty much any organisation whether they be in public sector or in the private sector with our solutions," Rai said.
Further, he said, "In India, our SaaS business is growing strong double-digit number for four years on a trot and our SaaS solution is growing 33 percent faster than the competition and we are actually increasing our market share Year-on-Year (YoY) as far as the SaaS solutions are concerned."
