Weather Update: Rain lashes parts of Delhi as G20 Summit underway, IMD predicts more for next two hours
Early Sunday morning brought light rain to various parts of Delhi, offering a refreshing respite from the prevailing heat. Areas such as Vasant Kunj, Munirka, Lajpat Nagar, INA, and Narela experienced these welcome showers.

Furthermore, the Regional Meteorological Centre in Delhi has forecasted the likelihood of more light rain and drizzles in the next two hours, affecting several areas in and around Delhi.
Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department has indicated the potential continuation of light to moderate rainfall for the next three hours in certain parts of Delhi. This weather pattern may lead to localised issues such as waterlogging, minimal damage to plants, and partial harm to vulnerable structures.
In parallel, as the G20 summit progresses, from US President Joe Biden to  South Africa President Cyril Ramaphosa, world leaders arrived at  Rajghat this morning to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi.

Maharashtra:
In Maharashtra, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts until Sunday. The IMD has just issued this yellow alert today, while a green alert has been issued for Palghar tomorrow. Additionally, Mumbai is under a green alert from September 9 to 12, with a forecast of light to moderate rainfall.
East India:
Expect isolated heavy rainfall in Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand on September 8th, in Odisha on September 8 and 12, in Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal on September 8th and 9th, and in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands from September 10 to 12.
South India:
Anticipate isolated heavy rainfall in the ghat areas of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal from September 8th to 10th, and in Kerala and Mahe from September 8 to 11.
Central India:
Expect isolated heavy rainfall in Madhya Pradesh from September 8 to 10.
West India:
Isolated heavy rainfall is likely in Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra from September 8 to 12, and in the Gujarat Region on September 8 and 9.
Northeast India:
Isolated heavy rains are predicted over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura from September 8 to 12, and in Arunachal Pradesh on September 10.
Northwest India:
IMD has also forecast isolated heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand on September  9 and in East Uttar Pradesh from September 8 to 10.
