Three tourists from Bangladesh died in a houseboat fire at Dal Lake in Srinagar on Saturday. Their bodies were recovered from the houseboats gutted in a blaze in the Dal Lake here on Saturday, officials said.
Police said the fire broke out at Safeena houseboat near Ghat number 9 of Dal Lake, which quickly spread and engulfed other houseboats, NDTV reported.
They said the deceased included a man and a woman, while the third victim's gender could not be ascertained so far.
The fire broke out in the tourist hub of the Dal Lake early Saturday, destroying property worth crores of rupees, officials said.

Station House Officer Fire Service, Farooq Ahmad, told news agency ANI that a few tourists were rescued and the rescue operation started as soon as they received a call.
The cause of the fire, which consumed five houseboats and an equal number of huts attached to them, was not immediately known.
