Flight operations at Lucknow airport in Uttar Pradesh were impacted on Monday as overnight rains flooded parts of the city. According to News 18, several flights were affected as waterlogging was reported at the airport runway following incessant rainfall.
Schools were also shut due to heavy rainfall, while Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered immediate relief measures to tackle the situation. He even asked the administration to take steps to clear the waterlogging in the area.
Meanwhile, visuals shared by news agency ANI showed submerged railway tracks in Barabanki.

In a separate incident, a nine-year-old girl drowned while taking a bath in a swollen rivulet in Uttar Pradesh's Deoria, police said on Monday. Station House Officer (SHO) Raju Singh said the girl had gone to take a bath in Majhna nullah on Sunday evening but drowned after she slipped into deep waters.
Rainfall alert in Uttar Pradesh
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert, predicting very heavy rainfall, in the Moradabad and Rampur districts of Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, an orange alert, for heavy rainfall, was issued in Bijnor, Badaun, Bareilly, Kheri, Sitapur and Basti. A yellow alert, for light to moderate rainfall, was predicted in several other regions of the state.
