Uttar Pradesh ATS arrests Indian national working at embassy in Moscow for allegedly spying for Pak ISI
Uttar Pradesh ATS has arrested Indian national Satendra Siwal in Meerut for allegedly spying for Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI. Siwal was working at the Indian embassy in Moscow.

The ministry of external affairs (MEA) is aware of Siwal's arrest, and it continues to work with the investigative authorities in the matter, people in the know said.
Siwal was allegedly extracting confidential documents by exploiting his position within the Indian Embassy in Moscow.
Prima facie it has been revealed that Siwal was allegedly motivated by greed for money and allegedly passed critical information concerning the strategic activities of the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of External Affairs, and Indian military establishments to ISI handlers.
In its probe, the ATS found that Siwal was providing confidential information regarding the strategic activities of the ministries and Indian military establishments for money, the UP ATS statement said.
Siwal could not give satisfactory answers and confessed to the crime during the interrogation by the UP ATS’ Meerut field unit.
In the FIR, Siwal has been booked under Section 121 A (waging war against the country) of the IPC and the Official Secrets Act, 1923, as per the statement.
