Railway staff of the Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express thwarted a major accident aimed at derailing the train in Rajasthan's Bhilwara region. The alerted operators spotted stones and iron rods obstructing the railway tracks, and stopped the train immediately by applying emergency breaks.

Videos of the incident have surfaced on X, formerly Twitter, sparking outrage among viewers. Confirming the incident, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of North Western Railway told News18 that officials visited the spot in the Gangarar-Soniyana section and a case is being registered by the RPF under the Railways Act.
"Train No 20979 Vande Bharat Udaipur-Jaipur stopped at KM no 158/18, 158/19 in Gangarar-Soniyana section. The stoppage was due to placing of some ballast on the track and of two rods, of one feet each, in the joggle plate on the said Km."
According to the official, the incident occurred at around 09:55 am and falls under the jurisdiction of the Bhilwara area. The location comes under the jurisdiction of SHO/Gangarar in Chittaurgarh district.
Condemning the incident Railways also issued a statement on X, formerly Twitter, "Today, in front of Vande Bharat Express going from Jaipur to Udaipur, between Gangrar and Soniana stations, anti-social elements have tried to damage the train by placing stones and iron rods on the railway track.
Strictest action is being taken by the Railway Administration against anti-social elements and the culprits will not be spared," said the official.
Vande Bharat Express on Udaipur-Jaipur route was flagged off by PM Modi last month, in September, making it third Vande Bharat train in Rajasthan. The two other Vande Bharat trains operating in the state are the Ajmer-Delhi Cant and the Jodhpur- Sabarmati Vande Bharat.
