Mumbai coastal road's south-bound corridor to be inaugurated on Monday
The south-bound corridor of the coastal road connecting Worli and Marine Drive in south Mumbai will be opened for traffic on Tuesday, March 12, following its inauguration on Monday, March 11. The south-bound corridor of the coastal road was set to be opened for traffic on Saturday, Chahal said earlier.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Thursday examined the construction of the project, on which work had begun on October 13, 2018, and has an estimated cost of ₹12,721 crore. During the occasion, Shinde said that a world-class 320-acre Central Park will also come up along the 'Dharmaveer Sambhaji Maharaj Coastal Road'.
Officials revealed that the boring work of the 2 km-long twin tunnels from Priyadarshini Park to Marine Drive has finished. The stretch of road beside the tunnels will have four lanes on each carriageway, while the tunnels will have three lanes each. More than three-fourths of the work on the entire project has already been completed, according to officials, as per PTI.
The motorists can enter the coastal road from Worli Seaface, Haji Ali interchange and Amarson's interchange points and exit at Marine Lines after the 10.5-kilometer-long stretch will be opened for traffic on Monday. Initially, the vehicles will not be permitted to drive at high speed due to the ongoing construction of the remaining portion, however, Mumbai police will soon issue a notification about the maximum permissible speed on the road.
