Ayodhya, the temple town in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, is all set to host the mega opening ceremony of the Ram Mandir— a moment eagerly awaited by devotees of Lord Ram.
The auspicious 'pran-pratishtha' or consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol will take place on Monday (January 22), while the seven-day rituals for the ceremony started on January 16.
For the grand ceremony, Ayodhya has been decked up with lights, flowers, and saffron flags, while stringent security measures have been put in place around the holy city.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the consecration ceremony on January 22. Moreover, close to 8,000 people, including B-Town celebrities, top industrialists, and sports persons are expected to be in Ayodhya.
The consecration ceremony will be graced by a string of film stars, who have been personally invited by the Ram Temple trust.
'Ramayan' stars
Popular actors Arun Gohil, Dipika Chilika, and Sunil Lahiri, who are remembered by many for their performances in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan, have arrived in Ayodhya as part of the festivities.
