Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to flag off 10 new Vande Bharat Express trains on Tuesday across different routes in the country. The latest launch, via video conferencing, will take the total number of operational Vande Bharat trains to over 50. Ahead of the ceremony, let's take a closer look at the upcoming Vande Bharat Express trains.
10 Vande Bharat Routes
The list includes at least seven new routes for the Vande Bharat Express.
Khajuraho– Delhi.
Ranchi- Varanasi.
New Jalpaiguri-Patna.
Puri-Visakhapatnam.
Kalaburagi–Bengaluru.
Lucknow-Dehradun.
Patna-Lucknow.
Apart from the aforementioned seven new routes, the following cities will be connected by a second Vande Bharat train.
Ahmedabad- Mumbai.
Secunderabad- Vishakapatnam.
Mysuru- Chennai.
With the inauguration of 10 new trains, Jharkhand will get its third Vande Bharat Express. The already operational Vande Bharat trains connect Ranchi with Patna and Ranchi with Howrah.
Now, the Indian Railways is operating 41 Vande Bharat trains connecting different states with Broad Gauge (BG) electrified networks. It spans across 24 states and 256 districts in total. With 10 new trains, the total number of operational Vande Bharat trains in the country will go up to 51.
Delhi has the highest number of Vande Bharat Express trains. The national capital is connected with Amb Andaura, Amritsar, Ayodhya, Bhopal, Dehradun, and Khajuraho. Mumbai is in the second spot, with six Vande Bharat trains followed by Chennai at third with five.
Extensions
Ahmedabad-Jamnagar is to be extended till Dwarka.
Ajmer- Delhi Sarai Rohilla is to be extended till Chandigarh.
Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat to be extended till Prayagraj.
Thiruvananthapuram- Kasargod to be extended till Mangaluru.
