Several coaches of North East Express train derail in Bihar
Several coaches of the North East Superfast train derailed in Bihar late night on Wednesday, October 11. The accident took place at Raghunathpur railway station in Buxar district, a railway official confirmed.

According to the East Central Railway, the accident took place at 9:35 pm when the train no. 12506, North East Express, was enroute Kamakhya in Assam from Anand Vihar station in Delhi.
Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav reacted on the incident saying that he has spoken to officials, DM and medical officers. "Alert has been issued and security forces, NDRF, and SDRF have been mobilised. Our priority is to save lives and provide treatment to the injured. Helpline number has also been issued," he added.
Reiterating the same, District Magistrate of Bhojpur, Raj Kumar, said that 15 ambulance and 4-5 buses have been sent to the incident site. In addition, SDRF team has also been deployed. The district administration is on alert mode, he said.
All necessary arrangements have been made to provide treatment to the injured. Doctors have been called. The blood bank has been opened,  Kumar added.
Union Minister and Buxar MP Ashwini Kumar Choubey said that the derailed coaches involve 1 AC coach and 2 other sleeper coaches. "A tragic incident has happened in our Buxar area, as some coaches of the North East Superfast train have derailed at Raghunathpur station. I have come to know that 3 coaches have derailed. I have also spoken to DG NDRF, Chief Secretary, DM, DG and GM Railways. I have appealed to our workers and they are engaged in rescue operations. Medical teams have been sent. Rescue operation is going on. I am also going to Raghunathpur, Buxar."
The Railways has also issued helpline numbers, and added that accident relief vehicle along with the medical team and officials have arrived the incident site, however, there has been no loss of life reported as of now.
