Speaking about the latest depression in an interview to CNBC-TV18, RK Jenamani, Senior Scientist at India Meteorological said, “We have only given the low pressure area over central parts of Bay of Bengal and the intensification is ruled out. However, the rainfall is expected over Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, part of West Bengal and maximum impact will be over Bangladesh.”
Talking about withdrawal, he said, “There is unusual rainfall activity because of the last depression that was created across Peninsular India emerged into the Arabian Sea because of that there has been delay on withdrawal.”
“Monsoon will be moving from Maharashtra, central and northern Maharashtra, all these areas will have a dry weather from 22nd onwards and monsoon will be withdrawing off,” he added.
