Monsoon will withdraw from October 22 in Maharashtra: IMD

Monsoon withdrawal delayed by nearly 10-12 days. Usually monsoon exit India by October 15th, but a new depression is forming above Bay of Bengal and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has put out advisory for rainfall in various adjoining areas.

Speaking about the latest depression in an interview to CNBC-TV18, RK Jenamani, Senior Scientist at India Meteorological said, “We have only given the low pressure area over central parts of Bay of Bengal and the intensification is ruled out. However, the rainfall is expected over Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, part of West Bengal and maximum impact will be over Bangladesh.”

Talking about withdrawal, he said, “There is unusual rainfall activity because of the last depression that was created across Peninsular India emerged into the Arabian Sea because of that there has been delay on withdrawal.”
