This special operation, which commenced at approximately 7 a.m., is currently underway in every district of the state, sources say. Over 1,000 locations are being raided in the statewide operation, Punjab ADGP Arpit Shukla said.
Some of these locations include Moga, Ferozepur, Tarn Taran and rural Amritsar. In Tarn Taran, a total of 36 areas are being raided to find Brar and his aides.
Multiple police teams, led by senior officials, are actively participating in this operation. SSP-level officers are monitoring the operation and 5,000 policemen are involved, Shukla added.
Goldy Brar stands as the primary suspect in the murder case of singer Sidhu Moosewala.
Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, widely known as Sidhu Moosewala, tragically lost his life in a shooting incident that occurred in the Mansa district on May 29 of the previous year.
Satinderjeet Singh, also known as Goldy Brar, is originally from Sri Muktsar Sahib in Punjab and departed for Canada on a student visa in 2017. He remains an active member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Earlier today, gangster and Khalistan supporter Sukhdool Singh was killed in Winnipeg, Canada. Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi allegedly claimed responsibility for his death in an inter-gang rivalry. Singh fled his hometown of Moga, Punjab, in 2017 after being wanted for extortion and murder.
