The United States and India have agreed to resolve their final World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute, a US trade representative spokesperson said.
India will also reduce tariffs on certain US agricultural products, the spokesperson said, which would increase opportunities for American producers and help bring more of the latter's products to customers in India.
The spokesperson said India has agreed to reduce tariffs on frozen turkey, frozen duck, fresh frozen, dried and processed cranberries and blueberries.
The announcement comes as US President Biden met PM Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in New Delhi.
" The leaders lauded the settlement of the seventh and last outstanding World Trade Organisation (WTO) dispute between India and the United States. This follows the unprecedented settlement of six outstanding bilateral trade disputes in the WTO in June 2023," stated the joint statement released by India and the US after the Modi-Biden meeting on Friday, September 8.
