A blaze erupted in two carriages of the Patalkot Express (Train No. 14624) while it was traveling from Firozpur, Punjab, to Seoni, Madhya Pradesh, near Bhadai Railway Station in Agra on Wednesday, October 25, as reported by the news agency ANI.
“Smoke was reported on the train Patalkot Express between Agra- Dholpur. The smoke was noticed in the GS coach, 4th coach from the engine. The train was immediately stopped and Coach detached. No injuries to any person," according to a statement by Indian Railways.
As of now, there have been no reported casualties, according to Prashasti Srivastava, the Agra Railway Division PRO. The Patalkot Express operates between Firozpur Cantonment in Punjab and Seoni in Madhya Pradesh.
The fire ignited in the fourth carriage shortly after the train's departure from Agra station at approximately 3:45 pm. The train was halted, and the affected carriage was swiftly evacuated, reported news agency PTI.
At present, the exact cause of the fire remains unknown.
Nonetheless, the carriage engulfed in flames has been successfully detached from the train.
