Fire breaks out in New Delhi-Darbhanga Special Express near UP's Etawah
A fire broke out in New Delhi-Darbhanga Special Express near Etawah in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday evening, however, no casualties were reported in the incident, according to officials. The preliminary cause is believed to be a short circuit, though it is yet to be officially confirmed.

Himanshu Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of North Central Railways, stated that the station master at Sarai Bhopat junction near Etawah observed smoke emanating from coach number S1.
"The train was immediately halted, and all the passengers were evacuated. Everyone is safe, and there is no report of any casualty as of now," reassured Himanshu Upadhyay.
Sanjay Kumar, SSP, Etawah, said that three bogies of the train were affected by the fire. As of the current update, the fire has been completely extinguished, and there are no known casualties. "3 bogies of the train caught fire...as per the current report, fire has been doused completely...there are no reports of casualties so far...arrangements are being made for the passengers so that they can reach their destinations...exact number of injured is not known now... it is being told that short circuit is the reason for fire but it is not confirmed yet..." he told ANI.
According to the sources, swift response teams detached the affected coach from the train, and fire tenders were deployed to contain and extinguish the flames. Passengers shared footage of the incident on social media, showcasing the intensity of the fire in the S1 coach as it passed through Sarai Bhopat Railway station.
North Central Railways assured that an investigation into the cause of the fire will be conducted to prevent similar incidents in the future.
