Electricity bill payment in Karnataka's urban areas to remain suspended from March 10; details here

The services will remain affected between March 10-19 due to a software upgrade. But, there will not be any disruption in the electricity supply during these days, officials said.

The payment of electricity bills -- both online and offline -- will remain suspended for 10 days starting March 10 in Karnataka's urban areas, including the capital city of Bengaluru. The services will remain affected due to software upgradation, The Indian Express quoted officials as saying.

Services provided by all five ESCOMs, including payment of electricity bills, application for a new service connection, making changes in name and address, and tariff change among others will remain unavailable for all the consumers residing in the urban areas under the Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme (RAPDRP) towns between March 10 to March 19.
However, officials said that there shall not be any disruption in the electricity supply during these days.
Here's a complete list of urban areas where services shall remain affected:
BESCOM jurisdiction
Services shall remain disrupted in cities like Bengaluru, Shidlaghatta, Kolar, Chintamani, Kanakapura, Ramanagara, Davanagere, Chikkaballapura, Chitradurga, Hoskote, Doddaballapura, K.G.F, Challakere, Kunigal, Harappanahalli, Tumkur, Sira, Channapattana, Anekal, Mulubagilu, Bangarapet, Harihara, Hiriyur, Tiptur and Gowribidanur.
MESCOM jurisdiction
This includes places like Mangalore, Kadur, Udupi, Bantwala, Tarikere, Puttur, Shikaripura, Sagara, Shimoga, Bhadravathi and Chikkamagalur.
CESC jurisdiction
Hunasuru, Chamarajanagar, K.R.Nagar, Mysore, Malavalli, Nanjanagudu, Mandya, Hassan, Arasikere, Madikeri, Kollegala, and Channarayapattana.
GESCOM jurisdiction
Sindhanoor, Bidar, Gangavathi, Gulbarga, Manvi, Sadem, Basavakalyan, Wadi, Shorapur, Sirguppa, Kampli, Alanad, Bhalki, Shahabad, Shahapur, Yadgiri, Raichur, Bellary, Koppal, Humnabad and Hospet.
HESCOM jurisdiction
Hubli-Dharwad, Belgaum, Nargund, Ramdurga, Karwar, Nippani, Jamakhandi, Bailahogala, Lakshmeshwar, Chikodi, Guledgudda, Mahalingpur, Athani, Batkal, Dandeli, Indi, Saudhatti, Gadag, Gokak, Savanur, Sirsi, Kumta, Bagalkot, Rabbkavi-Bannahatti, Haveri, Illkal, Mudhol, Ranebennur and Vijaypura.
As per the report, there will be no disconnection for non-payment of bills during the software upgrade period. Between March 10-19, the power bills will be issued to consumers, but will only be updated after March 2 in the system.
A dedicated IT team has been set up to address issues in the functioning of the applications on a 24/7 basis. Officials have requested the consumers to cooperate during downtime.
