The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday, March 6, registered an FIR against various visa consultancy firms and agents for allegedly luring youth with job offers and sending them to the Russia-Ukraine war zone. The probing agency has found that nearly 35 victims have fallen prey to such job offers and have been sent abroad.
The CBI has been searching at more than 10 locations in seven cities across the country: Delhi, Trivandrum, Mumbai, Ambala, Chandigarh, Madurai and Chennai. During its search operation, the CBI has seized more than ₹50 lakh, incriminating documents, electronic records like laptops, mobiles, desktops, CCTV footage, etc.
The CBI said, “The human trafficking network of these agents is spread over several states across the country.” The CBI said in a statement, “So far, around 35 instances of victims sent abroad have been established. The identities of more trafficked victims are also being established.”
Some of the accused include New Delhi’s 24x7 RAS Overseas Foundation and its director Suyash Mukut; OSD Bros Travels & Visa Services Pvt Ltd, Mumbai and its director Rakesh Pandey; Adventure Visa Services Pvt Ltd., Chandigarh, Punjab and its director Manjeet Singh; and Baba Vlogs Overseas Recruitment Solutions Pvt Ltd, Dubai and its director Faisal Abdul Mutalib Khan, among others.
It has also appealed to the general public to not fall prey to such false promises of jobs by dubious agencies and agents.
