CBI coordinates with Interpol to bring back murder & rioting convict to India from the UAE
In yet another successful cross-border transfer of a wanted criminal to India for serving punishment, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has coordinated the return of life convict Narender Singh from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Global Operations Centre of the CBI collaborated with Interpol NCB-Abu Dhabi, the Indian High Commission in Abu Dhabi, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the Haryana Police after locating the convict in the UAE based on a request made before Interpol.
The Red Corner Notice (RCN) subject returned to India with a security detail from the Special Task Force (STF) of the Haryana Police.
The life convict was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Punjab & Haryana High Court on 24th October 2009 and was wanted by the Haryana Police in a case (Crime No. 557/1994) registered at Fatehabad's Tohana Police Station for the offenses of murder, rioting, and voluntarily causing grievous hurt.
At the request of the Haryana Police, the CBI followed up with the Interpol General Secretariat to have an RCN issued against the convict on 7th November 2023. This notice was then circulated to all Interpol member countries to determine the location and expedite the arrest of the accused.
The CBI, serving as the National Central Bureau for Interpol in India, coordinates with all law enforcement agencies in India for assistance through Interpol channels.
In 2023, 29 criminals wanted by Indian law enforcement agencies were returned from abroad following coordination and follow-up with foreign law enforcement agencies via Interpol channels.
Moreover, 100 RCNs were published through Interpol for criminals and fugitives wanted by Indian law enforcement agencies in 2023.
