Cauvery dispute sets off bizarre protests: Dead rats near mouth, bone in hands and more
Some people put a dead mouse near their mouth, some grabbed skeletal bones, some took a bath on the street and some rolled around on the ground. These bizarre forms of protests are taking place in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, as people take to the streets, registering their protest in the Cauvery water dispute between the two states.

Here's a look at different protests taken out by demonstrators in different parts of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu amid controversy over the Cauvery water sharing:
1. Members of the farmers' association in Tamil Nadu's Trichy staged a protest by standing in Cauvery water. They demanded Karnataka to release Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.
2. Members of pro-Kannada outfits protested in a unique way. A member with a garland around his neck, sat on the road, while other people around him bathed him with soap and water.
3. Farmers in Tamil Nadu's Trichy held bones in their hands, while a skull was placed before them near earthen pots.
4. A group of Tamil Nadu farmers in Tiruchirappalli put dead rats in their mouths to protest against the Karnataka government and demanded the release of Cauvery water to the state from Karnataka.
5. In Chamarajanagar, pro-Kannada outfit members raised slogans while holding flags in hand. Members of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, meanwhile, garlanded a portrait of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin in Ramanagara.
6. A few members of pro-Kannada outfits held plastic pots in their hands and a few others rolled on the roads near Bengaluru's Freedom Park on Friday.
7. In Karnataka's Mandya, members of the farmers' association held a 'Rail Roko' protest over the Cauvery water-sharing issue.
The two southern states are at loggerheads over the Cauvery water-sharing issue following the Cauvery Water Management Authority’s directives to release water from Karnataka to Tamil Nadu at a time when several taluks in the state have been declared drought-hit.
