Bharat Drone Shakti-2023 exhibition, jointly organised by the Indian Air Force and the Drone Federation of India (DFI), at Hindon Airbase in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, showcased an array of indigenously developed drones, offering a glimpse into the future of warfare and civilian applications of the technology.
The event boasts an impressive line-up of drones for attendees to explore. According to the Drone Federation of India, over 75 drones are on static display, with more than 50 set to participate in aerial demonstrations throughout the event, reported PTI.
These demonstrations span a wide spectrum of drone applications, encompassing survey drones, agriculture drones, fire suppression drones, drone swarms, tactical surveillance drones, loitering munition systems, heavy-lift logistics drones, and counter-drone solutions, according to reports.
The Bharat Drone Shakti 2023 event is expected to attract approximately 5,000 attendees from various sectors, including representatives from the Central government, state departments, public and private industries, the armed forces and paramilitary forces.
Meanwhile, the first C-295 transport aircraft was also inducted into the Indian Air Force at the Hindon Airbase in the presence of Rajnath Singh. Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari was also present at the induction ceremony. The C-295 aircraft acquisition, a two-year effort that began with a deal between India and Airbus Defence and Space, marks a pivotal step in enhancing India's aerial capabilities. Airbus is set to deliver the initial 16 aircraft, while the remaining 40 will be manufactured and assembled in India through a partnership with Tata Advanced Systems (TASL).
