With only hours to go before the Diwali celebrations get underway across India, preparations are in full swing in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya, which is gearing up to light 24 lakh diyas at 51 ghats. A sand art, portraying the life and times of Lord Ram as part of the festive celebrations, has all the attention in the holy city.

In the lead-up to the Shobha Yatra, a key component of Ayodhya’s Deepotsav, various artists from around the country captivated audiences with their performances during the inaugural events today.
A Shobha Yatra was launched on Saturday morning, featuring a procession of 16 tableaus, each based on the epic Ramayana.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will light the inaugural earthen lamp at Ram Ki Paidi ghat, marking the commencement of an attempt to secure a Guinness World Record. Subsequently, volunteers will illuminate lamps across all ghats in Ayodhya. Scheduled for after sunset, around 6 pm, the event has generated curiosity, with visuals of the ongoing preparations for giving a sense of the grand spectacle.
Security measures have been bolstered around Ram Katha Park in Ayodhya in preparation for Deepotsav. Visuals shared by news agency PTI show dozens of security personnel at the venue, ensuring law and order for the anticipated crowds during the festivities.
Ayodhya Range IG Praveen Kumar announced security measures for the celebrations, revealing the division of the area into 14 police zones. The VVIP enclosure at Ram Ki Paidi ghat underwent scrutiny, including checks by a dog squad, to ensure comprehensive safety protocols, according to the report by News18.
Officials have disclosed plans to recreate the homecoming of Lord Ram, Sita and Lakshman via Pushpak Viman after their 14-year exile on Diwali eve, Saturday, according to a News18 report. The event is set to witness the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Governor Anandiben Patel, and various other VVIPs.
