The Vande Bharat Express on the Amritsar-Delhi route commenced its regular services on Saturday, January 6. The semi-high-speed train number 22488/22487 will operate for six days a week, excluding Fridays.
The train number 22488 Amritsar-Delhi Vande Bharat Express departed from Amritsar at 9:30 AM.
It will reach Delhi at 1:50 PM.
The train will be covering a total of 448 km in the given time duration of four hours and 20 minutes.
On the other hand, train number 22487 Delhi-Amritsar Vande Bharat Express will leave Delhi station at 3:15 PM and reach its destination station Amritsar at 9:45 PM.
The train has six major stops — Beas, Jalandhar Cantt, Phagwara, Ludhiana, Sahnewal, and Ambala junction stations.

On December 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the semi-high-speed train virtually from Ayodhya.
Besides the Amritsar-Delhi Vande Bharat Express, PM Modi also flagged off five other Vande Bharat Express trains — Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra - New Delhi; Coimbatore – Bengaluru; Mangalore – Madgaon; Jalna – Mumbai; Ayodhya Dham Junction- Delhi (Anand Vihar).
Additionally, the inaugural ceremony also included two Amrit Bharat trains operating on the route of Darbhanga- Ayodhya Dham Junction- Delhi (Anand Vihar) and Malda Town – Bengaluru.
Vande Bharat Express has been indigenously manufactured, and self-propelled. The express train set is equipped with all the updated amenities for the passengers which serves them with a faster, more comfortable and convenient travel experience.
