9 killed in Solar Industries factory explosion in Nagpur
Nine people were killed and several injured in a blast at the Solar Industries' explosives manufacturing factory in Bazargaon village, Nagpur.

The explosion occurred at around 9 am in the cast booster unit of the factory, as workers were engaged in the crucial task of packaging explosives used in coal mining blasts. Reports from a senior police official indicate that the cast booster plant bore the brunt of the blast.
The victims, six of whom were women, were engaged in the packaging of explosives at the time of the tragic incident. Among the casualties were employees of the Solar Explosive Company, a manufacturer known for producing drones and explosives primarily for defence forces.
At the time of the explosion, a total of 12 workers were inside the Solar company's unit. The blast, which specifically targeted the cast booster plant, has raised questions about the safety protocols and measures in place at the manufacturing facility.
Local authorities have confirmed that the explosives involved in the blast were manufactured on-site. The incident has prompted concerns regarding workplace safety and the handling of hazardous materials within the factory premises.
In response to the tragedy, the state government has announced financial assistance, offering 5 lakh to the families of each victim who lost their lives in the blast. The compensation aims to provide some relief to the grieving families affected by this unfortunate incident.
