India will celebrate its 75th Republic Day on Friday (January 26). The day commemorates the adoption of the Constitution of India on January 26, 1950. The special day will be marked by grand celebrations with lots of patriotism fervour around the country.
The Republic Day Parade will be held at the Kartavya Path, previously known as Rajpath, in the national capital, featuring regiments of the Army, Navy, Air Force, police, and paramilitary forces. The women-centric parade will have the country's defensive prowess on display, showcasing the latest weapon systems, missiles, and aircraft.
On this day, the country also pays tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives to safeguard the borders.
This year, 100 women artists in the costumes of their respective states will commence the Republic Day Parade based on the themes – ‘Vikshit Bharat’ and ‘India: Mother of Democracy’. The artists will play conch shells, drums, and other traditional instruments.
Moreover, 1,500 women artists from 30 states will present folk and classical dances for the first time. Also, on display will be around 1,900 sarees from all the states.
Republic Day Parade: Timing
The Republic Day Parade will start at 10.30 am and will run for around 90 minutes.
French President Emmanuel Macron, the chief guest for this year’s Republic Day Parade, will arrive in Rajasthan's Jaipur on Thursday.
Invites have been sent to around 13,000 guests to witness the parade this year. Earlier, Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane said the objective is to provide an opportunity for people from all walks of life to take part in the 75th Republic Day, in line with the central government’s vision of 'Jan Bhagidari'.

The Republic Day Parade will be telecast live across all channels of the Network18 group. Viewers can also see all the latest updates regarding the 75th Republic Day on CNBC-TV18.
This year's Republic Day Parade will be aired on Doordarshan and will be live-streamed on its official YouTube channel starting at 9 am onwards.
Meanwhile, the tickets to the Republic Day Parade have been priced between ₹500, ₹200, and ₹20 based on the seating and are available for booking since January 10.
