A chain of diagnostic and preventive care laboratories, Thyrocare Technologies said that vaccines and/or antibodies will not stop COVID infections.
In an interview with CNBC-TV18, A Velumani, CMD & CEO of the company spoke at length about the infection and testing volumes as COVID-19 cases continue to rise in India, particularly in Maharashtra.
“The volumes have completely died down but I am a bit concerned that all are worried about the number of infections going up, but vaccines, antibodies will not stop the infection. Infections will continue to happen. If we test more, more will be positive. If we test less, less will be positive,” he said.
However, said Velumani, this is not a time to panic.
“Opening up of the locals, allowing transportation unlimited has certainly increased the number of infection but it’s not a panicking situation,” he said.
On the business front, he said, “I believe that FY21 revenue growth will be around 16-18 percent. Our wellness product, Arogyam, is seeing good growth.”
