After the country begun a two day dry run for what will be the largest and most ambitious immunisation programme yet, principal scientific adviser professor K. VijayRaghavan on Monday said India will embark on continued vaccination towards second half of 2021.
In an interview to CNBC-TV18, VijayRaghavan said, "We have to keep in mind that vaccines have to be safe, tested and approved by the regulator before they are introduced. That process is happening and is near final stages. It is very likely that the vaccines will be available to us beginning very early next year."
He said, "Vaccines initially are going to be in short supply and later on they will be available in large amount and multiple vaccines will be available."
