According to the latest World Mental Health Report by the World Health Organisation, depressive and anxiety disorders are about 50 percent more common among women than men through the course of their lives; and this has been further exacerbated by COVID, likely because women were more affected by the social and economic consequences of the pandemic.

And that is something we really need to talk about. Worldwide, more than 10 percent of pregnant women and women who have just given birth experience depression and this can have a severe impact on both mothers and babies. And that is why it is crucial that every woman going into motherhood should be educated on how to take care of their mental health.
