The second phase of COVID-19 vaccination drive has begun and this includes private hospitals participating. In an interview to CNBC-TV18, BS Ajaikumar, executive chairman of Healthcare Global Enterprises, spoke at length about the impact and the cap in terms of vaccination price at Rs 250 per dose.

“Private hospitals now mandated to carry on the vaccination which is a great move and with there will be a mass vaccination across the country as private healthcare takes care of 75 percent of Indian healthcare. Therefore, it’s a welcome thing,” said Ajaikumar.
Speaking about price cap, he said, “The government is giving it free of cost to the government centers, they are supplying it free. If the government supplies free to the private hospitals, at a personal level, I feel we should also deliver it free if possible.”
“However, once the official communication comes and what the government wants to do, we will take a final call, but they have put a ceiling of Rs 250 which is fine, but where and when we can offer it free we will look at it,” said Ajaikumar.
