Exclusive: Govt receives 215 applications for pharma PLI scheme from 83 pharma manufacturers

The government has received 215 applications for pharma PLI scheme from 83 pharma manufacturers, CNBC-TV18 learned from sources.

The government has received 215 applications for pharma PLI scheme from 83 pharma manufacturers, CNBC-TV18 learned from sources.

According to the government sources, the key applicants under this scheme include some of the majors like Alembic Pharmaceuticals, Aurobindo Pharma, Bajaj HealthCare, Cadila Healthcare, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Lupin, Ipca Laboratories etc.
The government has also received 28 applications from 23 companies for PLI promoting manufacturing of medical devices. The key applicants in segment are Wipro, Siemens, Helix, Skanray Technologies etc.
The appraisal process for these applications under PLI schemes have started today itself by IFCI Limited. The project management agency will be doing scrutiny and the final approval of the scheme will be given by the empowered committee, which is chaired by CEO NITI Aayog.
