Mumbai Police announced a series of restrictions on movements of vehicles. A new sticker system was started where those who connected with health issues were asked to put a red sticker on their vehicles. A green sticker for those transporting food and a yellow sticker for other essential services like telecom, financial services, press, etc.

In this special conversation, CNBC-TV18’s Latha Venkatesh spoke to Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale on the new COVID restrictions in India's financial capital.
Nagrale said, “Government of Maharashtra through their restriction rules under DMA act they have imposed some restrictions during the lockdown. Only the vehicles with essential services which are mentioned in Honourable Chief Secretary Maharashtra state order those vehicles, transports are being allowed and other category people who are not mentioned in this order they are not allowed to come on the road."
"All other vehicles which are not falling under the category what we categorised as a red pass, green pass, and yellow pass, except for those categories nobody is allowed to come on the road.”
He added, “Red-sticker category includes patients going to hospitals or citizens going to get vaccinated. Any person related to a medical facility and they are going for their duties, like the doctor, nurses and all the hospital staff are included in that category. Al we have included in that category all those who will be visiting the hospitals for any purposes they will also be in the red-sticker category.”
“Green-sticker not only allows the food articles, vegetables and fruits, bakery products and your dairy products, but it also allows the movement of citizens who are going to purchase these food grains and essential items from the stores or from the shops which are open under the essential services act.”
