Two universities postpone exams due to COVID-19 curbs
Two universities in Aurangabad and Nanded districts of Maharashtra postponed their examinations in light of the curbs imposed by the state government to control the rise in COVID19 cases, an official said on Wednesday. As per an official release, examinations scheduled in the next 15 days have been postponed by the two universities in Marathwada region.
13 new cases push Nagaland's COVID-19 tally to 12,440
Nagaland's COVID19 tally rose to 12,440 on Wednesday as 13 more people tested positive for the infection, Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom said. One hundred and two COVID19 patients also recovered from the disease on Wednesday, he said.
Goa sees 473 new COVID-19 cases; four more fatalities
Goa on Wednesday recorded 473 fresh cases of COVID19 and four more casualties due to the infection, an official from the health department said. With this, the tally of infections in the state reached 63,815, while the toll mounted to 857, he said.
Stricter COVID-19 curbs come into force in Maharashtra

COVID-19 cases are rising very rapidly every single day and "there is no slow down" in the spread of the pandemic in the national capital, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on Wednesday. The minister, however, reiterated that lockdown was not a solution to the situation, and advised people to step out only if needed, avoid gatherings, wear masks and follow COVID19appropriate behaviour to combat the disease.
Kerala reports 8,778 COVID-19 cases, 22 deaths
Kerala logged 8,778 new COVID19 cases, including 41 health workers, and 22 related deaths on Wednesday, taking the caseload to 11.89 lakh and the toll to 4,836. As many as 2,642 people were cured of the infection, taking the total number of recoveries to 11,25,775.
DMK blames Centre's 'laxity' for COVID second wave
DMK chief M K Stalin on Wednesday batted for universal vaccination for COVID19 and blamed the Centre's 'lackadaisical' attitude and 'careless' administration for the second wave of the pandemic sweeping across the country. The Leader of Opposition in Tamil Nadu Assmbly alleged that the vaccines were not brought to use on time for people and slammed the export of over five crore doses to other countries.
