Paytm begins COVID-19 vaccination drive for 8,000 frontline field service staffers
Fintech major Paytm on Tuesday said it has started a vaccination drive for its over 8,000 Field Service Executives (FSEs) that are part of its business development and merchant support network. The company has already completed the first dose of vaccination for over 1,000 FSEs in collaboration with hospitals across the country, a statement said. It will extend the drive to the family members of FSEs as soon as the overall supply of vaccines in the country goes up, it added. A Paytm spokesperson said the FSE workforce is the backbone of the company.

Punjab adds 4,798 COVID-19 cases, 176 deaths
Punjab's COVID19 caseload surged to 5,48,231 on Tuesday as 4,798 more people tested positive for the disease while the death toll climbed to 13,642 with 176 more fatalities, according to a medical bulletin. Of the latest deaths, 19 were reported from Ludhiana, 17 from Sangrur and 16 from Amritsar, the bulletin stated.

Free COVID-19 treatment for SSBY beneficiaries in private hospitals: Punjab minister
Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu on Tuesday said the state government has decided to provide free treatment to COVID19 patients covered under the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana (SSBY) a universal health insurance scheme in empanelled private hospitals. Sidhu said the SSBY beneficiaries can directly visit empanelled private hospitals without any need for referral from the public hospitals for coronavirus treatment.

Maharashtra minister cautions over lifting COVID-19 curbs
