Arvind Kejriwal sends suggestions for Delhi lockdown to PM in a letter
In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has sent some suggestions for Delhi lockdown. Here are they:

  • All schools, colleges, educational, training and coaching institutes should continue to be prohibited.
  • Examinations from June onwards should be permitted.
  • All cinema hall, gyms, swimming pools, entertainment park, amusement parks, bars, assembly halls to remain closed.
  • All gatherings and religious places shall be closed for public.
  • Movement of individuals for all non-essential services shall remain prohibited between 9 pm and 5 am.
  • In all zones, people above 65 years, co-morbidities, pregnant women and children below 10 years to stay at home.
  • Restaurants, eating joints, sweet joints, bakeries to be allowed for only takeaway or home delivery.
  • Taxi, cabs permitted with condition that except driver only 2 passengers are allowed.
  • Carpooling, car sharing by the aggregators shall not be allowed.
  • Buses shall be permitted with condition that not more than 20 passengers shall be allowed at one time inside.
  • Mandatory to have 2 Marshall’s inside each bus at all times at entry and exit door.
  • Metro services to be permitted for govt employees, PSUs from 7:30am to 10:30am and 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
  • Metro for essential services with e-pass from DM/DCP  concedes from 10:30 am to 5:30pm.
  • No pillion rider on 2 wheeler and maximum 2 passengers besides driver for 4 wheelers to be allowed.
  • Allow private offices with up to 50% strength irrespective of their location, remaining employees to work from home. All markets and complexes shall be opened on odd-even basis.
  • Shops would open on alternate days depending on their shop numbers.
  • Shops selling Essential services goods to be permitted to open on all days.
  • All shopping malls to open on condition That only 33% of shops open on a single day.
  • Management of the mall would be responsible to enforce conditions given by the government.
  • Construction activities shall be permitted where the workers are available on-site or could be transported to the site within NCT of Delhi.
  • The letter by the CM comes at a time when Delhi has recorded fourth highest number of coronavirus cases in the country behind Maharashtra, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. The CM had earlier said the national capital was ready to be opened despite the rising cases.
