Rajesh Sud, former managing director and chief executive of Max Life Insurance, and Yes Bank's current executive director Rajat Monga are in the race to head the lender following Rana Kapoor's departure on January 31, The Economic Times .
The board will meet on January 9 to finalise on the name and send its recommendation on the managing director and chief executive to the Reserve Bank of India, the report said.
Sud resigned as the MD and CEO last September to take up other career opportunities and was the founding member of Max Life Insurance.
Monga has been with the bank since inception. He was the chief financial officer and currently serves as senior group president of financial markets at Yes Bank.
