See loan book increasing by Rs 10,000 crore in FY22: South Indian Bank

South India Bank expects its loan book for FY21 to be flat at around Rs 65,000 crore, but is expected to surge by Rs 10,000 crore in FY 2022. Murali Ramakrishnan, MD and CEO of the bank told CNBC-TV18, "We are estimating to grow it [loan book] by another Rs 10,000 crore by next year."

"Looking at the way the economy is poised to grow in Q4 -- with all indicators saying that things are looking better than anticipated -- banks will have to look forward to the coming year with a lot more optimism," he stressed.
In terms of net interest margins (NIMs), he explained, "We are looking at NIMs in the range of 2.7-2.8 percent by FY21 and we expect it to move up to 3.24 percent by FY22."
The bank plans to relaunch some of its retail products and plans to launch a few more in the retail segment.
