The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Shaktikanta Das met the managing directors (MDs) and chief executive officers (CEOs) of public and private sector banks over a video conference on Wednesday.
The most important takeaway, according to a public sector banker, was that the governor stressed on using the current phase in the market to shore up capital. The second most important advice was that banks should be proactive in recognizing stress.
