Indian investment bankers are preparing for more dealmaking amid the biggest mergers-and-acquisitions (M&A) boom in the country, reported Bloomberg.

Indian companies' transactions reached $104.5 billion in 2018 surpassing the last annual record with almost four months left in the year, said the report.
New bankruptcy law combined with Asia-focused private equity funds has created many opportunities bankers, the report said, adding that it will also reduce debt and modernise the retail sector.
The consumer sector is also one of the M&A hotspots.
With the Indian rupee coming down, there is a huge threat on the business confidence in the country, prompting foreign acquirers to wait for even more currency weakness before stepping in, it added.
