Himachal Pradesh Rains Highlights: According to the Indian Air Force, in the last 48 hours, helicopters of Western Air Command rescued over 780 citizens in the flood affected areas of Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the state has suffered a loss of around Rs 10,000 crores. "It will take around 1 years for us to redevelop the infrastructure of the state," he added. Meanwhile, the death toll in the rain-related incidents in Himachal Pradesh rose to over 60 on Wednesday.

Himachal Pradesh Rains: Schools shut across the state today

The Education department had ordered closure of all schools and colleges in the state on Wednesday and the Himachal Pradesh University has suspended teaching activities till August 19, news agency PTI reported. About 800 roads are blocked in the state and the losses suffered by the state since the onset of monsoon since June 24 has crosses Rs 7,200 crore, officials said.
