The minimum temperature in Mumbai and surrounding areas with likely hover around 25 degrees Celsius on Thursday (December 21), while the air quality remains in the 'moderate' category.
The average air quality index (AQI) in Mumbai stood at 139 at 10 am, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
As per the CPCB data, the AQI was recorded at 206 in Bandra Kurla Complex, 119 in Borivali East, 120 in Byculla, 119 in Chembur, 150 at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, 99 in Colaba, 141 in Ghatkopar, 191 in Kandivali West, 142 in Kurla, 164 in Malad West, 128 in Navy Nagar-Colaba, 117 in Powai, 216 in Shivaji Nagar, 149 in Sion, 111 in Vile Parle West and 110 in Worli.
The maximum temperature in Mumbai is expected to reach around 29-32 degrees Celsius.
On Wednesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted a partly cloudy sky in the city and suburbs, and a haze during morning hours for the next two days.
As per the weather department, the maximum and minimum temperatures in Mumbai are likely to be around 32 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Meanwhile, the IMD on Wednesday said the minimum temperatures were in the range of 4-8 degrees Celsius over major areas of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, north Rajasthan, and West Uttar Pradesh.
In parts of East Uttar Pradesh, south Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Bihar, the minimum temperature was in the range of 8-12 degrees Celsius.
The overall AQI in the national capital stood at 340 at 10 am on Thursday, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 6.2 degrees Celsius.
