Parts of Delhi experienced light to moderate rainfall on Friday, amid the alert of heavy rains issued by the weather department. Areas such as Civil Lines, Laxmi Nagar, and Lajpat Nagar received rainfall, while parts of the city, including Jasola and Okhla, witnessed overcast skies. The humidity levels fluctuated between 90 percent and 72 percent throughout the day. Heavy rains also affected the traffic, leading to queues of vehicles on road. According to IMD, the national capital is expected to continue receiving light to moderate rainfall on Saturday. Himachal Pradesh Rain Updates LIVE | MeT forecasts heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh till Saturday, warns of landslides, flash floods

The Meteorological Office Shimla has warned of heavy rain in the state till Saturday, which may lead to landslides, flash floods, mudslides, and increased flow of water in the rivers and drains. It also cautioned of moderate to high risk of flash floods in Solan, Shimla and Sirmaur districts and predicted a wet spell in the state till August 3.

The National Highway-5 connecting Shimla and Kinnaur district was again closed due to landslides in the Broni drain and Khaneri on Friday.  As many as 468 roads are still closed for vehicular traffic in Himachal Pradesh, while 552 transformers are damaged and water supply has been affected in 204 places. In the past 24 hours ending at 6 pm on Friday, light to heavy rain lashed parts of the state with Bhoranj receiving the highest rainfall at 127 mm, followed by Kataula 118 mm, Dharamshala 87 mm, Mandi 63 mm, Rampur 49 mm, Kangra 47 mm, Naina Devi and Sundernagar 42 mm each, and  Kangra recording 36 mm of rainfall.

Parts of Delhi received light to moderate rainfall on Friday, with the maximum temperature in the city settling at 34.3 degrees Celsius, one notch below normal, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. The minimum temperature was recorded at 26.6 degrees Celsius. The national capital is likely to receive light to moderate rainfall on Saturday as well, the IMD said. On Friday, Civil Lines, Laxmi Nagar and Lajpat Nagar received rainfall and parts of the city, including Jasola and Okhla, saw overcast skies. The weather office has predicted a generally cloudy sky and moderate rain in the city on Saturday. The maximum and minimum temperatures for Saturday are expected to settle around 34 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Telangana Rains Updates LIVE | Eight persons swept away in flood waters, bodies found

Eight persons were swept away in the flood waters of a rivulet in Mulugu district of Telangana following heavy rains, and their bodies have been found, police said on Friday. Twelve members of a remote village in the district were swept away in flood water when they were moving towards a safer place on Thursday, but four of them saved themselves, police said. The bodies of the eight persons who went missing were found today.

Maharashtra Rains LIVE | Yellow alert over next 4 days in several districts in Maharashtra's Vidarbha, villagers warned of dam water discharge

Thunderstorms with lightning and heavy rainfall are likely to occur in districts of Maharashtra's Vidarbha region over the next four days, while residents of several villages have been warned of possibility of flooding due to water discharge from dams in the vicinity, officials said on Friday. The Regional Meteorological Centre, Nagpur has issued 'yellow' alert for the next four days for Nagpur, Wardha, Buldhana, Gondia, for three days for Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Amravati and for two days for Yavatmal, Buldhana, Akola and Washim. It has also issued 'orange' alert for Chandrapur, Gadchiolri and Yavatmal for Friday, officials added.

Himachal rains: NH-5 blocked in Shimla and Kinnaur districts following landslides

Stretches of National Highway-5, at Broni Nallah and Khaneri in the Shimla district and Kaksthal in the Kinnaur district, were blocked owing to landslides after heavy showers in Himachal Pradesh, officials said on Friday. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) shared images of the blocked stretches of the highway in two Himachal districts.
