Delhi minimum temperature drops to 6.2 degrees, air quality 'poor'

As per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the AQI stood at 270 in Delhi at 9 am compared with 295 on Tuesday. The minimum temperature in Delhi dropped to 6.2 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, which is two notches below the normal mark.

Delhi minimum temperature drops to 6.2 degrees, air quality 'poor'
Residents of Delhi woke up to a cold morning on Wednesday, while the overall air quality in the national capital stood in the 'poor category'.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality index (AQI) stood at 270 in Delhi at 9 am. The AQI was 295 on Tuesday.
As per the CPCB data, the AQI was recorded at 298 in Anand Vihar, 270 in Ashok Vihar, 304 in Bawana, 221 at IGI Airport, 289 at ITO, 202 at Lodhi Road, 297 in Mundka, 258 in Najafgarh, 290 in Punjabi Bagh, 275 in RK Puram and 288 in Vivek Vihar.
In the National Capital Region (NCR), including Gurugram, Faridabad, and Noida, the AQI was recorded in the 'Poor' category.
An AQI between zero and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, 301 and 400 very poor, and 401 and 500 severe.
Meanwhile, the minimum temperature in Delhi dropped to 6.2 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, which is two notches below the normal mark.
At 8:30 am, the relative humidity was recorded at 92%.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a partly cloudy sky during the day in the national capital, while the maximum temperature is expected to settle at 23 degrees Celsius.
On Tuesday, the minimum temperature was recorded in the range of 4-8 degrees Celsius in major parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and some parts of Uttar Pradesh, northwest Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, north Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and West Bihar.
The weather department said that there will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over northern parts of the country during the next four to five days.
Further, the IMD on Tuesday predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls at isolated places over south Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep.
