It's the fourth weekend and it also happens to be an extended one with the festival of colours, Holi, on Monday. Much like the past few weeks, we have an array of exciting films and shows lined up for release this week. From Sara Ali Khan’s Ae Watan Mere Watan to the Oscar-winner Oppenheimer on OTT to Randeep Hooda’s Swatantrya Veer Savarkar in the theatres, this weekend’s list includes content from different genres.

Ae Watan Mere Watan (Amazon Prime Video)
The historical biographical drama is inspired by the real-life story of Usha Mehta. Starring Sara Ali Khan in the lead role, Ae Watan Mere Watan also features Sachin Khedekar, Abhay Verma, Sparsh Shrivastav, Alexx O’Nell, and Anand Tiwari.
The film revolves around Usha Mehta’s establishment of an underground radio station to spread the message of unity back in 1942 during the British era. It has been streaming on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video from Thursday, March 21.
Fighter (Netflix)
Fighter, directed by Siddharth Anand, was released in the theatres in January. Following this, the thrilling aerial action film is now streaming on the OTT platform Netflix from Thursday, March 21. Featuring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor in the lead, the film narrates the story of a group of elite IAF aviators, Air Dragons, who have come together to protect and serve the country.
Swatantrya Veer Savarkar (Theatre)
Releasing on Friday, March 22 in the theatres, Swatantrya Veer Savarkar is a biopic. Created and written by Randeep Hooda himself, the film narrates the journey of Hindutva leader Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, popularly known as Veer Savarkar.
Swatantrya Veer Savarkar features Randeep Hooda, Ankita Lokhande, Apinderdeep Singh, Amit Sial and others.
Oppenheimer (JioCinema)
Academy Award-winning epic science-thriller, Oppenheimer, based on the life journey of J. Robert Oppenheimer, was released on JioCinema on Thursday, March 21. Christopher Nolan-helmed Oppenheimer is about the American theoretical physicist who helped develop the first nuclear weapons during World War II.
The film features Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, and Florence Pugh among others. Recently, the film won seven awards at the 96th Academy Awards.
Lootere (Disney+ Hotstar)
Hansal Mehta's directed Lootere is based on the real-life story of an Indian ship that was hijacked by pirates in Somalian waters. Featuring Vivek Gomber, Deepak Tijori, Rajat Kapoor, and Chandan Roy Sanyal, the series is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from March 22.
Madgaon Express (Theatre)
Created and written by Kunal Kemmu, the comedy-drama film Madgaon Express revolves around the journey of three childhood friends who have embarked on a trip to Goa. It features Kunal Kemmu, Nora Fatehi, Divyendu Sharma, Avinash Tiwary, Manoj Joshi, and Pratik Gandhi among others. The film is releasing in the theatres on Friday, March 22.
3 Body Problem (Netflix)
"3 Body Problem" is a TV series, created by David Benioff, DB Weiss and Alexander Woo, it's based on the Chinese novel "The Three-Body Problem" by Liu Cixin. Ye Wenjie, an astrophysicist who witnessed her father's brutal murder during the Chinese Cultural Revolution, is a central character.
This show is the second live-action version after a Chinese series in 2023. It started on Netflix on March 21, 2024.
X-Men '97 (Disney+ Hotstar)
"X-Men '97" is a cartoon show about the superhero group X-Men, from Marvel Comics. It's a comeback of "X-Men: The Animated Series" (1992–1997), picking up where that series left off. The story shows the X-Men dealing with tough new problems after their leader, Professor X, is gone. "X-Men '97" premiered on Disney+ Hotstar this week.
Road House (Amazon Prime Video)
Jake Gyllenhaal starrer ‘Road House’ is an American action film directed by Doug Liman. It is a reimagining of the 1989 film of the same name. Apart from Gyllenhaal, the film also features Daniela Melchior, Conor McGregor (in his feature film debut), JD Pardo, Arturo Castro and Billy Magnussen.
The movie focuses on Ex-UFC fighter Dalton, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, taking a job as a bouncer at a Florida Keys roadhouse, only to discover that this paradise is not all it seems. Road House was released on Amazon Prime Video on March 21, 2024.
