BTS member Kim Taehyung or V, has made a comeback with his new solo song, 'FRI(END)S,' which is his first project after finishing his military duty.
The track, which came out on Friday, March 15, has a smooth blend of pop, soul, and R&B, highlighting V's calming voice and a gentle beat. Sung entirely in English, the song beautifully conveys the desire for a friendship to evolve into something deeper.
Before joining the military, V had hinted at his upcoming music, assuring fans that he had prepared many surprises for them during his absence.
On Sunday, March 3, the K-pop superstar announced that his next single, 'FRI(END)S,' will be released on March 15. Through lyrics, written entirely in English, the song "rooted in the pop-soul R&B genre", delivers relatable and witty romance, a statement by Big Hit Music read.
Last Saturday, a teaser of the much-anticipated track was shared on BTS' official Instagram handle. The clip also featured V, who made his solo debut in 2023 with the album 'Layover', which included songs like 'Love Me Again,' 'Rainy Days' and 'Slow Dancing.'
On December 11, 2023, V started his mandatory military service alongside another BTS member RM. The duo completed their basic military training, graduating with distinction on January 16. Not just that, V also earned the 'elite' soldier rank for his outstanding performance during the five-week training programme.
On January 18, the K-pop superstar was spotted, in military attire, boarding a train headed to Jonghaenggyo Bridge. V was carrying a backpack on his shoulder and another military bag in hand.
