The release date of the third instalment of the Marvel Universe superhero franchise Venom has been advanced by a couple of weeks. The film, titled Venom: The Last Dance, will hit the cinemas on October 25, 2024. It was earlier scheduled for theatrical release on November 8, 2024. While the plot of the film is still under wraps, Tom Hardy will return as the male lead, playing Eddie Brock. Apart from Hardy, the film also features Juno Temple, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Clark Backo in crucial roles.

For the unversed, the character of Eddie Brock or Venom was last seen in the 2021 released, Spider-Man: No Way Home post-credit sequence. The last two instalments of the franchise -- Venom in 2018 and Venom: Let There Be Carnage in 2021 -- were commercial hits. The two movies amassed around $1.3 billion at the box office, according to a report in Variety.
Venom: The Last Dance will also mark Kelly Marcel's debut as a director, while Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Hutch Parker, Marcel, and Hardy are producing the project.
Last year, the shooting of Venom 3 came to a halt due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. However, the shooting resumed at the end of November and the project will hit the theatres later this year.
In February, Juno Temple said that the film was almost complete, calling it "a wild, wonderful ride".
“It’s so new to me. It’s a big set! This is crazy. It’s been so much fun and I got to work with such cool people. I’ve been so lucky in my career to just have the most incredible casts,” Temple told Variety. “I can’t wait for it to get out into the world. I think it’s going to be a good one.”
According to the reports, the Columbia Pictures film will screen the movie in premium large formats (PLFs) and IMAX on October 25.
