Actor Akshay Kumar on Tuesday surprised his fans with the first look of his upcoming Soorarai Pottru remake. Titled Sarfira, the social drama will hit screens on July 12. "Dream so Big, they call you Crazy! #Sarfira releasing only in cinemas on 12th July, 2024. #MaarUdi," Akshay Kumar wrote on social media site X alongside the first look of the film.

The film will also feature Radhika Madan, Paresh Rawal, and Seema Biswas in pivotal roles. It has been directed by national award winner Sudha Kongara.
Sarfira is produced by Aruna Bhatia, Jyotika, Suriya, and Vikram Malhotra.
Soorarai Pottru, released in 2020, was a Tamil drama directed by Kongara. The film starred Suriya, Aparna Balamurali, and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles. It was inspired by events from the life of GR Gopinath, the founder of low-cost airline Simplifly Deccan.
Inspired by the book Simply Fly, the film revolves around the life of Nedumaaran Rajangam, who is popularly known as Maara and is the son of a teacher. It narrates the story of Maara setting out on his plan to make the common man fly, as he takes on the most capital-intensive industry with the help of his friends and family.
Soorarai Pottru won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film.
Soon after Akshay Kumar shared a glimpse of the film, fans were quick to react to the post.

A third person wrote, "Abki bar ye film pathan ka record todegi ye film."
On the work front, Akshay Kumar will next be seen in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan alongside Tiger Shroff.
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the action thriller also features Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, Alaya F, and Ronit Roy.
Produced by Pooja Entertainment and AAZ Films, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is set for worldwide release on April 10.
