The enthralling teaser of the upcoming Netflix series, The Railway Men, is out and it’s getting a good response from the audiences. The teaser that gives a glimpse into the storyline based on the 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy has garnered more than two lakh views within a few hours of its release.
The teaser of this Netflix series gives a glimpse into a tragedy that unfolds in a factory with lives rapidly falling apart amid Bhopal Gas Tragedy while a few Indian Railways men are doing their best to help the victims.
The Railway Men teaser introduces the lead actors R Madhavan, Babil Khan, Kay Kay Menon and Divyenndu. The video starts with a gas leak in a factory, where people rush to safeguard themselves against toxic emissions. The voiceover begins, referring that Bhopal railway station has been scrubbed out from the government map.
R Madhavan then makes a grand entry when he enters as the Central Railway’s General Manager, issuing the direction to station manager Kay Kay Menon to move forward. Divyenndu plays a police constable who is willing to go the extra mile to earn people's trust even beyond his duty. The sole loco pilot at the station, played by Babil Khan, also tries his best to save the city from this disastrous incident.
As the teaser progresses, it showcases the main characters and the storyline, introducing us to the victims and giving an idea of what awaits the residents of Bhopal. The Railway Men is a four-episode drama that narrates the story of the unsung heroes of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy. The web series has been written by Aayush Gupta.
The Shiv Rawail helmed web series portrays the undeterred courage of Indian Railways staff in their pursuit to save many lives during that tragic time. This is Netflix’s first collaboration with YRF and is set to air on the OTT platform on November 18.
The Bhopal Gas Tragedy occurred on the night of December 2, 1984, when methyl isocyanate gas leaked from a pesticide factory owned by the American company, Union Carbide Corporation. The disaster tragically poisoned over half a million people that night, resulting in an official death toll of more than 5,000. Many survivors and their descendants have since grappled with serious health issues, including cancer, blindness, respiratory problems, and various genetic disorders stemming from the gas leak.
