Actor Shreyas Talpade suffered a heart attack after reportedly after completing a film shoot on Thursday, December 14 evening. The 47-year-old is recuperating in a hospital in Mumbai after undergoing an angioplasty, PTI reported.
Deepti Talpade , the actor's wife on Friday December 15 issued a statement on Instagram informing that Shreyas is 'in stable condition'.
"I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming concern and well-wishes following the recent health scare my husband experienced. I'm relieved to update everyone that he is now in stable condition and will be discharged in a few days. The medical team's exceptional care and timely response have been instrumental during this time, and we are grateful for their expertise," she said.
"We kindly request respect of our privacy as he continues his recovery. Your unwavering support has been a tremendous source of strength for both of us," she added.
Talpade complained of uneasiness and collapsed at his residence. He was taken to the Bellevue Hospital by his family. "He was brought to the hospital late last evening and an angioplasty was performed last night. He is fine. He is in the ICU," PTI quoted an official as saying.
Talpade was shooting for 'Welcome to the Jungle' and later in the evening he suffered a heart attack, a source told NDTV.
'Welcome to the Jungle', the third instalment in the popular 'Welcome' franchise, stars Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Jacqueline Fernandez and Disha Patani among others. The is directed by Ahmed Khan.
Talpade, who is known for his work in both Hindi and Marathi cinema, received critical acclamation with the 2005 sports drama film 'Iqbal'.
The actor has also starred in films like 'Dor', 'Om Shanti Om' and the 'Golmaal' franchise.
He made his directorial debut with the 2017 film 'Poster Boys', featuring Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol.
