The Maharashtra government has increased the security of actor Shah Rukh Khan to Y+ after he allegedly received death threats. The decision to step up Khan's security was taken last week after a review of it in a high-powered committee meeting, the official said.

Khan had given a written complaint to the state government saying that he had been receiving death threat calls after the films 'Pathan' and 'Jawan', the Maharashtra police told news agency ANI.
The Y+ cover comprises 11 security personnel, including six commandos, and a police escort vehicle. The security cover is given on a payment basis. Khan will have to pay for his security.
Khan's last released movie 'Jawan' has raised Rs 1,103.27 crore gross at the worldwide box office, the makers have said. Production house Red Chillies Entertainment said on X, "'Jawan' Making & breaking box office records every day."
The movie was released worldwide on September 7 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. In a press release, the makers said "Jawan" has become the "first Hindi film in the history of Indian cinema to cross Rs 1,100 crore at the global box office".
"In this, the India gross box office collection stands at Rs 733.37 crore and the overseas box office collection is Rs 369.90 crore," they said. The makers also said that the movie has set its "strong feet in the domestic market" with its net collection from the Hindi belt reaching Rs 560.03 crore.
"Jawan" outlines "the emotional journey of a man who is set to rectify the wrongs in the society". It stars Shah Rukh in the dual role of Vikram Rathore and his son Azad. The movie also features Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi with Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt in special appearances.
"Jawan" is produced by Gauri Khan and co-produced by Gaurav Verma.
