Sam Bahadur, the biographical portrayal of India’s First Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw, was released on December 1. Despite a tough clash with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, the Vicky Kaushal film has collected over ₹5 crore at the box office.
According to the early reports of Sacnilk.com, Sam Bahadur has amassed around ₹5.50 crore at the domestic box office. As per the industry tracker’s data, the film had an overall occupancy of 29.18% in its Hindi language on the first day.
Of the overall occupancy across the country, Mumbai recorded a 30% occupancy rate, while the National Capital Region (NCR) recorded 36.25%, Pune and Bengaluru logged 47% and 35.75%, respectively.
Trade analyst and film critic, Taran Adarsh shared the collection at the national chains including PVR Inox and Cinepolis on the first day of Sam Bahadur. He wrote, “SamBahadur Fri / Day 1 at national chains… Update: 7 pm… PVRInox: ₹ 2.80 cr, Cinepolis: ₹ 60 lacs, Total: ₹ 3.40 cr.”

Sam Bahadur has been gaining positive reviews from the audience. Many have given a shoutout to Vicky Kaushal’s authentic portrayal.

Sam Bahadur has been directed by Meghna Gulzar. She has also co-written it with Bhavani Iyer and Shantanu Srivastava.
The movie has been produced by Ronnie Screwvala under his production banner of RSVP Movies. Besides Vicky Kaushal, the movie stars Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Neeraj Kabi, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in prominent roles.
