Salaar vs Dunki box office collection: SRK film stands at ₹161 crore, Prabhas’ moves to ₹300 crore in India

The action-thriller ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’ has been performing better than ‘Dunki’ as it has earned ₹13.9 crore while ‘Dunki’ has amassed around ₹9 crore on December 28.

Two of the most awaited releases of 2023 Dunki and Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, witnessed an epic clash at the box office. Dunki featured Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role while Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire was headlined by Prabhas.

According to the data from the industry tracker Sacnilk, Dunki has amassed around ₹9 crore on its eighth day. Its total box office collection has now been marked at ₹161.01 crore net in India. The film has crossed the ₹300 crore mark in the worldwide market.
Rajkumar Hirani helmed Dunki shows have been most prevalent in the National Capital Region (NCR), while boasting 875 screenings, as per Sacnilk’s data. Meanwhile, the shows in Chennai have seen an impressive occupancy rate of 37.5%, while Mumbai witnessed 18.5% of overall occupancy.
On the other hand, the action-thriller Salaar: Part 1–Ceasefire has been performing better than Dunki as it has minted ₹13.9 crore on its seventh day. As per Sacnilk’s report, the total collection of the film in India is now ₹309.3 crore, while adding the rough data of its eighth day the total collection is estimated to be ₹310.83 crore. While adding the collection from overseas, Salaar: Part 1–Ceasefire’ has already crossed the 500-crore mark.
Meanwhile, the film industry analyst and tracker, Manobala Vijayabalan shared the data of total tickets sold by the two movies on December 28 in the national chains such as PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis. As per the shared data, Prabhas’s Salaar sold a whopping 6,55,934 tickets from 9,149 shows with 26.47% of total occupancy, while Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki sold 3,15,030 tickets from 6,943 shows with 18.55% occupancy rate. On adding the total of all national chain theatres, Salaar garnered ₹12.59 crore while Dunki amassed ₹7.11 crore.
Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire has been directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Hombale Films. Besides Prabhas, the movie also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan in crucial roles.
Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki has been directed by Rajkumar Hiran. It features Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, and Vikram Kochhar.
